Apollo 18 – Review
The back story of Apollo 18 had me listening: Apollo 18 has been officially canceled to the public but the Department of Defense is sending them to the Moon on a mission of national security to secretly deploy sensors but things go wrong when they realize a Russian lander is already there. Its intriguing, as it makes you think, what if there was a secret mission to the Moon that the public didn’t know about. A great back story to work off.
Every time I watch a trailer, I always formulate how I think a movie is going to turn out. The trailers for Apollo 18 told a decent amount of the story and I predicted pretty much everything. If you watch the trailer, your probably going to figure out much of the movie. The only thing is how is it going to end. I had a couple different versions in my head but they choose to go in a different route which I thought was just bland.
The mockumentary style of cinematography got bit old after a while. It got to the point where I just could wait until they switch to one of the internal ship cameras just so it wasn’t moving around so much and I could see what was going on.
Overall it wasn’t a bad movie. Its not something you will be excited to tell your friends about the next day but its also not a complete waste of time. The acting and sound effects were up to par. If you can rent it cheap then I say go for it.
