New Poster for The Avengers

The upcoming movie, The Avengers released a new poster. The poster looks great and I love how they put the Avengers “A” in May. I’m super excited for this movie and plan on seeing it at Midnight on May 4th. Yes I will be taking the next day off of work so that I can drive an hour away for the movie to watch it in 3D.

All male skiers have one fear while going through gates, the straddle. Yannick Bertrand, a super-g skier in Kvitfjell, Norway lived this nightmare and let out a scream heard around the world.

WordPress: jQuery

Have you ever needed to use a different version of jQuery than comes installed with WordPress. Well there is a simple way to do it. Open your functions.php file and deregister jquery:

wp_deregister_script(‘jquery’);

Then we need to add the new jQuery location:

wp_register_script(‘jquery’, ‘http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.6/jquery.min.js’);
wp_enqueue_script(‘jquery’);

That’s it. Now you don’t always need to do this but you might find yourself needing a different version. Or you might just need to deregister jQuery in case your not using it on your site.

I prefer using Google Hosted jQuery for a couple of reasons:

Faster download of jQuery library.
Limit number of connections to my server for faster page load.
Cache – Users hitting the same Google jQuery file on other sites causes it to cache.

I’m really trying to get into time lapse video/photography and the only to learn something is to do it. So I thought maybe a time lapse of my wood stove would look cool. This is the result. I had a really hard time getting the lighting down for the camera but still looks pretty interesting. Enjoy.
